A note is delivered to Hannah Hall simply saying, “Protect her.” Her husband who sent the note has seemingly disappeared after the company he works for is raided by the FBI. What ensues is a mission by wife and step-daughter to figure out where Owen is.

THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME takes the reader on a journey spanning cities and memories to uncover a secret past that Owen never divulged to his wife. 

LAURA DAVE beautifully entangles secrets, logic, and a strong main character who—despite all the evidence to the contrary—knows her husband almost better than anyone. 

Not even for one second, did some detail feel unrealistic in this book. The characters, plot lines, settings all folded into one another for a well-paced story speaking on love and sacrifice.
