LUCY FOLEY creates a creepy, coastal town where a land battle ensues between the locals and a wealthy developer who created the next “it” getaway spot.

After inheriting her grandparents' home and land where she summered in her youth, Francesca turns it into a perfect getaway with luxury rooms, the finest dining, and even hidden cameras.

But with growing tensions with the locals sabotaging her opening weekend, and a former friend booking a room under a fake name, it’s only a matter of time before old secrets are exposed.

In typical Lucy Foley fashion, she has the reader's mind going one way, only to throw in the big twist at the exact right time, putting the whole story into perspective.

THE MIDNIGHT FEAST bounces from different characters' points of view, as the secrets of their intertwined histories slowly unravel. Foley does an amazing job creating an eerie setting dipped with the complications of small towns; however, I was not particularly drawn to any of the characters or this particular setting.

This book leans a bit more gothic than her other stories, with an ending that doesn’t quite pack the same punch. A slower read for me as I was less invested.
